Job Opportunity: Regional Educator for Small Community in Murchison Mid-West Region

Join our Partner’s team in a unique and rewarding regional role within a small regional community. This position provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives and contribute to the School Community Partnership that outlines the shared roles and responsibilities between the community and the school.

This position will commence mid-May 2024.


  • Implementing Professional Learning in Talk for Writing, Promoting Literacy Development (PLD), and Trauma Training.
  • Maintaining a positive and engaging classroom environment, while also enforcing school policies and procedures.
  • Assessing and evaluating student progress through assignments, tests, and other forms of assessment.

Providing feedback to regular teachers on student progress, challenges, and successes.

Managing student behaviour and discipline in line with school policies and procedures.

Communicating effectively with regular teachers, school administrators, and parents as required.

Participating in ongoing professional development and training as required to maintain and develop teaching skills.


  • TRBWA registration.
  • Evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check Current Working with Children Check.
  • Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements.
  • Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
  • Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter.
  • Complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement.
  • Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
  • Certification in HLTAID009 (Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).
  • Certification in HLTAID012 (Provide First Aid).


  • The contract is for nine months with the possibility of an extension.
  • The allowances and the benefits that go with working in this area are second to none!  Working at a school above the 26th parallel means you will be paid accordingly.
  • You will be supplied with furnished accommodation for the duration of your stay and if you would like to take your own home comforts with you, a container can be provided to ship your precious items.
  • Complimentary flight back to Perth once a year, or mileage paid if you would like to drive and take your own car.
  • If you have primary school-aged children of your own, they may attend this lovely school.
  • This particular part of the Mid-West is a wonderful place to live and work, with so much to see and do, especially if you like to go out and explore.
  • It is a safe place to bring up a family with excellent 4 x 4 driving and bike trails, and many national parks to explore in your free time. A whole world away from Perth!
